How Removing an Ancestor via Exorcism Helped Me Take My Life Back

When I say the word exorcism, what do you think of?
You are probably imagining something gruesome. A possessed person. Head spinning. A priest shouting at a demon while somebody throws themselves around a room.
I do not blame you. That is the version most of us have been shown.
My experience of exorcism has been very different. I have had several exorcisms myself, and I have done them for many others, too. None of them have involved demonic head spinning. Instead, they involved the removal of unwanted entities, including ancestors. Mine have removed many entities that have been affecting my thoughts, my body, my choices, and the way I have lived my life.
This is the story of the most recent one.
I felt stuck in a life I did not believe I could change

Last year, during my 30 days of ayahuasca in Peru, I had to relive the death wish I had carried inside me. I had to face the part of me that did not want to exist, did not want to come into this world, and did not want to be here as a human being.
It was hard work, but I worked through it. I thought I had moved past it.
Then, months later, I was still waking up with the same question: what is the point of today?
Every day felt the same. I could not see a way out of the rut. I had this deep disbelief in myself and in my ability to create my life. I was showing up on autopilot, including in my work, my hobbies, and my relationships.
I kept thinking to myself, “If this is my life, then I do not want it. I want out.”
Alongside all of this, I had been struggling with my digestion for a couple of years. I was constipated regularly. Sometimes I would go five, six, or seven days without going to the toilet. This was happening every few weeks, like clockwork.
I tried looking at stress, overwhelm, holding on, and all the other obvious emotional possibilities. I tried different solutions, but I still was not going regularly or freely. I felt heavy, stuck, and completely fed up with my body.
I also felt as if something was wrong with me. My mood, sleep, eating habits, and thought patterns were all affected by how awful I felt physically.
The sound healing session that became an exorcism

A few weeks ago, I supported my shaman, Peter Aziz, on one of his online workshops, this one was teaching us how to sound and vibration to heal certain parts of the body.
As he was working with the other people in the room, I felt something move in my stomach, so we investigated what it was.
I’m clairvoyant so I could see an entity in my belly.
What I saw was an old ancestor coming up from a very deep grave. This was not an ordinary grave. It was ancient, deep in the earth, and surrounded by sludge, worms, and stagnant, toxic energy.
The ancestor did not want to come out.
Peter told me that this was the ancestor who had been causing my bowel issues. Peter made the sound that created the vibration necessary to remove it from my gut.
When I looked at this ancestor, I saw how heavy, rigid, cynical, and stuck he was. He believed that death was the end of everything and that there was no spirituality or divinity. He did not believe in anything beyond the grave. He was sceptical, stubborn, and completely closed.
I had been carrying his issues inside me.
In my experience, this was not simply about having an old spirit in my stomach. It was also about carrying his disbelief in my abilities, my magick, and my potential.
The healing crisis that followed
I woke up the next day feeling utterly awful.
My head was pounding. My body ached. I felt hot and cold, restless, and unable to get comfortable. I felt like I had the biggest hangover from hell.
In the way I understand healing work, this was a healing crisis. My body was responding to the removal and beginning to release what I had been holding on to. All the stagnant energy and toxins.
Once the worst of it passed, my life changed almost immediately.
Everything I was tolerating started to feel obvious
I began clearing out my home. Clothes, pictures, memorabilia, plastic, kitchen items, and things I had kept for stupid reasons.
I kept asking myself, “What am I tolerating?”
The question moved beyond my physical surroundings. I started looking at where I lived, the area I was in, my work, my routines, the food I bought, my boundaries, my relationships, and how I treated myself.
I could see the places where I had been saying yes when I meant no. I could see the energy drains I had allowed because I had failed to set a boundary in the first place.
My sense of self-worth had increased, and it was forcing me to reassess everything. I was no longer willing to accept a life that did not fit the person I was becoming.
The biggest shift has been around my future.
I am asking myself whether my dreams were limited by the heaviness and disbelief I had been carrying. Now I have the space to ask what I truly want, rather than continuing with the future I had already accepted.
Why ancestral patterns may show up in the gut
As the cells start to divide to form a fetus, they do so and leave a hole in the middle, which forms the digestive system. You need this before a brain so that it can tackle nourishment from the mother to feed the brain and the rest of the body as it grows. Any inherited patterns, thoughts, or curses that are going to be passed down through the generations will be absorbed and carried in the intestines.
These ancestral imprints are patterns that can influence perception, beliefs, behaviour, and the experiences a person repeatedly attracts. They may show up through repeated relationship or money patterns, thoughts that feel unlike you, a persistent sense of limitation, or the feeling that you are living a life that does not fully belong to you. They can also create allergies, intolerances, bloating, constipation, and other digestive issues because the energies in that area are aggravated and disrupted.
From this perspective, stomach problems may be one part of a bigger pattern.
What exorcism actually means
Exorcism is simply the removal of an unwanted entity. That entity may be an ancestor, a spirit, a demon, or something else that is attached to or occupying a person’s physical or energetic field.
The process depends on the practitioner, their skills, their tools, and what is happening for the individual. Some exorcisms are dramatic. Some are subtle or completely undetected. Some create an immediate shift, while others take time to understand.
You may feel something during the removal, or you may feel very little. You may experience a period of physical or emotional adjustment afterwards, or you may simply notice that your life starts to feel different.
There is no single experience that applies to everyone.
Is exorcism something to fear?

Absolutely bloody not.
For me, exorcism has been a blessing. The change after this particular removal was so immediate that it felt as if someone had taken off a blindfold. I could see the lie I had been living, and I could see the choices I needed to make.
I was no longer allowing an unconscious pattern to make decisions on my behalf.
If you have recurring digestive problems, thoughts that feel unlike you, repeated patterns in your life, or a sense that something is holding you back, you may want to explore whether there is a spiritual layer to what is happening. Start with curiosity. Keep your discernment and work only with a practitioner you trust.
If you are curious about whether you have ancestral issues that need removing, get in contact with me. We can look at what is happening for you and talk through the options without the horror-film drama.
You can get in contact or book a healing session with me.
You already know when something in your life does not feel true. The question is what you are ready to choose once you are free to make the choice for yourself.

FAQs
What is an exorcism and how does it work?
Exorcism means removing an unwanted entity from a person’s physical or energetic field or body. That entity may be an ancestor, spirit, demon, or another unwanted presence. The process depends on the practitioner, their skills, their tools, and what is happening for the individual. Some people experience an immediate change, while others notice shifts in their thoughts, emotions, body, boundaries, or behaviour over time. What are the signs of an ancestral spirit or ancestral pattern?
People often explore ancestral healing when they notice unwanted repeated patterns that seem difficult to explain through their own life experience. These may include recurring relationship or money problems, thoughts or emotions that feel unlike you, a persistent sense of heaviness, unexplained limitations, or the feeling that you are living a life that does not fully belong to you. These experiences do not prove that an ancestral spirit or curse is present. Can spiritual or ancestral issues cause digestive problems?
Ancestral patterns sit in the intestines and digestive system. They can manifest as bloating, constipation, pain, allergies, and other digestive symptoms. They affect this area because the digestive system is the first thing to form in a fetus. Any ancestral issues that are passed down will be absorbed here and will therefore have an impact on the healthy functioning of the intestines.
